The playing season will resume on the following dates (details of Junior Training to follow shortly);
Junior Cricket Season Start: Friday 12th November (Girls to announced)
Senior Cricket Season Start: Saturday 13th November
Woollies Master/Junior Blaster Cricket : Friday/Saturday 19/20th November
These dates are predicated on Victoria reaching its vaccination targets so keep watching the news and make sure you keep checking this site for season start updates. We'll keep updating as details come to hand. Richmond Union CC is one of the largest Cricket clubs in the City of Yarra and runs the third largest junior program in the Eastern Cricket Association. We've been associated with Richmond since 1967. We currently run;
5 Senior Men's sides - Ranging from Senior Turf to 1 day (LOC) synthetic.
1 Senior Women's side - made finals in it's first year, a very social side!
1 veterans side (Over 60's) - quite a skilled side!
20 plus Junior boys sides comprising; U10's, u12's, u14's, u16's and u18's
3 Junior girls sides comprising; Stage 1, stage 2 and stage 3 girl's teams.
2 Woollies Cricket sides for 5-8 year olds boys and girls.
If you or your child are interested in playing cricket, and need any more details, please email the club secretary Richard Woolcock or the Junior Coordinator Lachlan Mosley at RichmondUnioncc@gmail.com. Richmond Union CC is welcoming club that invites a range of participation from parents, volunteers and players. We are especially looking for Senior Men to play in our quality turf grades.
The Woollies Cricket Blast program for 4-9 year old's are run on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings. These programs are designed to introduce children (boys and girls!) to cricket and sport in general. They are participation orientated and have no prerequisites. All equipment is provided (program is run by Cricket Victoria and there is a fee) and we teach basic skills with an emphases on participation and enjoyment. Parent participation is strongly encouraged.
If you're local you may notice that the club rooms are being rebuilt, this won't effect the season as such, except that we'll play/train out of portables on the ground. Its expected the rooms will be completed in early 2022. Citizens Park has been a hive of activity the last couple of years, with the ground being relaid (new ground work, sprinkler plumbing and new wicket tables laid), the club rooms demolished and rebuilt and finally the former Cole's across the road being torn down and rebuilt.
Just a gentle reminder, as with last year, it's mandatory for all club members (adults/children/parents/volunteers) to obey whatever COVID regulations are in play for sport, this includes wearing masks when appropriate, sanitizing, entering QR codes and exercising social distancing. The club will be following the Cricket Victoria and Department of Health guidelines.
